July Movies

7/2 PG-13

Starring: Tom Holland and Jake Gylennhaal

Summary: Peter Parker is trying to enjoy his school trip overseas with his classmates. However villains are threatening the world peace he just helped create after Avengers: Endgame.

Meg A Take: Excited to see Jake Gylennhaal in a Marvel movie! I surprisingly enjoy Tom Holland as Spider-man. Even though Tobey Maguire will always be my classic Spider-man.

7/3 R

Starring: Florence Pugh, Jack Renor

Summary: A group of friends travel to Sweden for a mid-summer festival. Things take a dark and violent turn for the worst as their trip continues.

Meg A Take: I’ve become a fan of Florence Pugh. Keep an eye out for this actress I think she’s onto big things. I’m curious about this movie, although too chicken to go actually see it in theaters.

7/19 PG

Starring: James Earl Jones, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Donald Glover, Seth Rogan and Keegan-Michael Key, etc.

Summary: The classic Disney cartoon tale comes to life! After the death of his father a young cub must find his own destiny, and his place as the Lion King.

Meg A Take: Already got my tickets with my bestie! Can’t wait to sing along and maybe cry a tear or two.

7/26 R

Starring: Leonardo DiCaprio, Brad Pitt, and Margo Robbie

Summary: The end of the golden years in Hollywood we follow the story of a TV star Rick Dalton (Leonardo DiCaprio) and his stunt double Cliff Booth (Brad Pitt)

Meg A Take: Quentin Tarantin0s upcoming film with Charles Manson story lingering in the background scares me. We don’t see any blood in these trailers and if we know Quentin there will be blood. I’m excited for the cast and to see this movie, but terrified with what the director will do.

BONUS!

7/4 Not Rated

Starring: Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Gaten Matarazzo, and Caleb McLaughlin

Meg A Take: So excited for Netflix’s Stranger Things Season 3! I rewatched seasons 1 & 2 to be prepared for the next season of the story-line. Anticipating lots of changes with the kids, and seeing everyone a little older and how they now interact with each other. Will Joyce and Jim make anything more of their relationship? How is Eleven fitting in to her new life? So many questions!

  1. I am so excited about all of these films/TV shows. Tom Holland captures everything I love about Spider-Man and I am so excited to have Jake Gyllenhaal finally be part of the MCU. I think the chemistry between him and Tom will be phenomenal.
The Lion King was my all time favourite Disney film and I am so excited to see how the live action film pans out, although I don’t think I’ll ever be ready to see Mufasa’s passing again.
