After ending April with an epic Marvel movie! Here’s what we can look forward to in May!

May 3 Rated R

An unlikely duo, Secretary of State Charlotte (Charlize Theron) and a hipster journalist Fred (Seth Rogen). Charlotte hires Fred as a speech writer as she campaigns for the Presidency. Looks like opposites attracted in this comedic RomCom. Not sure if they’re meant to last, but I’m sure the audience will get a few good laughs along the way.

May 3 Rated PG-13
Starring: Meagan Good, Dennis Quaid & Michael Ealy
A couple find their dream home, but they can’t get the original owner (Dennis Quaid) to leave. Dennis Quaid looks to give some scares is this thriller!

One for the kids this week! About a bunch of UglyDolls figuring out where they fit in the world, and accepting their unique selves. This story has been told multiple times and in various ways. If you just need to get the kids out of the house then go for it!

This movie will be for all ages! I know my husband is secretly excited for a Pokémon movie, especially with Ryan Reynolds as Pikachu. Pikachu and Tim (Justice Smith) team up to solve the mystery of what happened to Tim’s dad, Harry.

Definitely seeing this one with the bestie! Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson join together to con men out of their money. This movie should be filled with laughs with this strong female cast.

This is the story about the life of the author who brought us The Lord of the Rings trilogy. Fans will get a glimpse at the life of Tolkien and what inspired his books.

Round 3 for John Wick! Love this films! The first John Wick took me by surprised by how relentless Wick was to get revenge for his dog. The second one was fun, but not as great. However, I am excited to see how John Wick survives Chapter 3-Parabellum when he has a large bounty on his head and assassins trying to take him out at every turn.

May 24 Rated PG
Starring: Will Smith, Naomi Scott, Billy Magnussen & Alan Tudyk
One of Disney’s classic animated children’s movies is brought to life! For those 90’s kids whose favorite movie was Aladdin, this will be a treat for you to enjoy and, for some of us, bring your own kid along to experience the magical tale of a street rat made prince.

Two best friends about to graduate high school who never partied because they were too busy studying. Well things are going to change on the eve of their graduation night! Currently a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes.

A little twist on the classic Godzilla story. This time the world needs Godzilla to help fight against Titan monsters (about 17+) that are destroying the world. If you’re a fan of any Godzilla movie, you may enjoy this.

May 31 Rated R
Starring: Bryce Dallas Howard, Richard Madden, Taron Egerton & Stephen Graham
Taron Egerton stars as Elton John in this musical about the life and stardom of Elton John. After the success of Bohemian Rhapsody, I think we will be seeing a lot more movies about famous musicians.

Octavia Spencer stars in this psychological thriller about a woman who has trouble fitting in and starts to allow a group of teenagers to party at her house. Just as the teenagers start to get comfortable things start unraveling about their ‘seems too good to be true” host.
